General Note on Humans: The average human will live between 65 and 80 years, and rarely beyond 90. Humans living beyond 100 years usually possess great magical powers.

The Torreans are a pale-skinned people with light blonde hair and pale blue to crystal eyes. Males stand between six and seven feet tall while the females stand between five-foot-six and six feet. The males can weigh anywhere from 220 to well over 350 pounds, while the females weigh in between 170 and 260 pounds. The males are almost always found with long hair and full beards, while the female's long hair is braided back. The Torreans have been able to couple with all other human sub-races save the Suedorran. As one Dervatear once said to an unsuccessful coupling between a male Torrean and a female Suedorran, "The Torreans just don't have what it takes." The Dervatear was killed shortly thereafter. The Torreans are not a magical people and thus stay clear of such, even when they couple with the Alasion.

The Keranni skin color ranges from light to dark tan. Their hair color ranges from light brown to near black, while their eye color ranges from hazel-green to gray to light blue. Males usually stand between five-foot-eight and six-foot-three, weighing in anywhere from 170 to 280 pounds. The females, known for their soft, beautiful features, stand between five-foot and five-foot-eight and weigh between 90 to 140 pounds. Facial hair is rarely found on the males and never on the females. The Keranni have coupled successfully with all of the sub-races of humans in Western Glashia, as well as the Fpathen and the Pseithen. The half-race that is produced usually has the appearance of a fair-skinned Keranni, but with all the natural abilities of either the Fpathen or Pseithen parent. The Keranni are not a magical people, although couplings between the Keranni and the magic-filled sub-races of humans, as well as the Fpathen and Pseithen, have produced very powerful individuals.

The Suedorran are an ebony-skinned people, of both a light and dark complextion, with curled hair of black and eyes of brown or dark hazel. The males stand anywhere from five-foot-eight to six-foot-six and the females from five-foot-five to five-foot-ten. Male Suedorrans weigh in between 170 to 280 pounds while the females weigh between 120 to 160 pounds. Facial hair is possible on the males, although worn only by those of the upper-class and nobility. The females lack facial hair altogether. The Suedorran have coupled successfully with the other sub-races of humans, save the Torreans. Unlike the Keranni and Alasion, the Suedorrans have not coupled with the Fpathen or the Pseithen, for both of these races believes that such a coupling would produce a Tsuthen half-race. Although not as strong as that of the Alasions, the Suedorran do possess the powers of magic. Couplings between the Keranni and Alasion have produced individuals with extraordinary powers, especially when coupling with the latter. The Suedorran are considered to be the most advanced of the five sub-races of humans in Western Glashia.

The Alasion are perhaps the most diverse-looking of the human sub-races, with hair color ranging anywhere from light blonde to dark brown, from deep red to pitch black. Their eye color is much the same: from the blues to the greens to the browns to the grays, and all mixes that go with. The males stand from five-foot-two to six-foot-three and the females from four-foot-ten to five-foot-eight. Male Alasion usually weigh from 130 to 240 pounds, while the females weigh from 70 to 160 pounds. Some males grow full beards, while other lack the ability. Either way, the female Alasion lack the beard-growing ability altogether. The Alasions have successfully coupled with the other sub-races of humans, as well as the Fpathen and the Pseithen. The half-race that is produced can have either the appearance of the Alasion parent or that of the Fpathen or Pseithen, but always carries with them the natural powers of the Fpathen or Pseithen parent. On occasion, the Alasion have successfully coupled with the Havanathe, producing a taller version of the Havanathe with a shorter life of 100+ years. Strong magics flow through the Alasion, stronger than that of the Suedorran and nearly as powerful as that of the Fpathen and Pseithen. The Alasion are said to be the oldest of the human sub-races, migrating from the south and into Western Glashia more than 20,000 years ago.

The Notannes are a yellowish-skinned people with straight hair of black and slanted eyes of brown and hazel. Males stand from five-foot-two to five-foot-ten and females from four-foot-eight to five-foot-six. The male Notannes weigh from 110 to 180 pounds, while the females weigh from 80 to 130 pounds. Facial hair is usually never found on the males and never on the females. The Notannes are the youngest of the Western Glashia human sub-races, landing on the shores of the country less than 150 years ago and in numbers barely exceeding 3,500. They arrived in slave ships, telling tales of a far-off land where the highland Notannes had enslaved the lowland Notannes, making them work in quarries and mines. During their residence in Western Glashia, the Notannes have coupled successfully with all the other sub-races of humans, although only a few times in each instance, due to their limited number of years in Western Glashia. They have not coupled with the Fpathen or the Pseithen, although many believe such a coupling would be possible. A soft, strange magic seems to flow through the Notannes, although too few Notannes magicians are alive to explain it.

The following is information for anyone creating a Notannes character:

The strange magic that flows through the Notannes is actually an innate arcane ability that allows all Notannes characters the ability to cast magic-user spells, not matter the character's class. If the class of the Notannes character is a magic-user, the character gains a spell bonus additional to any other spell bonus the character may have. The following are two charts detailing the spell bonus awarded to Notannes characters. It should be noted that there are little more than 6,500 Notannes living within Western Glashia. This means that very, very few characters can be of the Notannes race. If the character is being created for a PBeM game, it will be up to the Game Master as to whether or not the character will be allowed.

Notannes characters also possess the innate ability to detect magic, much like the 1st level magic-user spell. However, the character can only detect an enchantment on an item, person, portal, etc. He/she cannot detect what the enchantment is or whether the item, portal, etc. is cursed. The Notannes character must physically touch the person, item, portal, etc. to detect a magical enchantment. This innate power can be used without limit.
